Struggling with Remote Learning as International Students? Listen to What Experts Have to Say. (Copy)

This is another semester of remote learning for international students due to COVID-19.

About a month into this semester, are you feeling the impact of remote learning on your level of focus, school performance, academic motivation, and overall well-being?

Recently I hosted a webinar on International Student Remote Learning Support with The Asian American Psychological Association and The American Psychological Association - Counseling Psychology Division. We invited a panel of experts to address some of the top challenges experienced by many international students in the U.S.:

  • Blurred boundaries between school life and personal life

  • Decreased academic motivation

  • Difficulty staying focused when attending remote classes

  • Time difference - attending remote classes from outside of the U.S.

  • Feeling of isolation - How to cultivate a community of belonging and togetherness for international students

  • For colleges and school professionals - How to best support international students experiencing these challenges

Watch the webinar video below to find out how you can better manage stress and issues that come with remote learning.

Found any suggestions you might want to try from the webinar video? Experiment with them and see how they can help you have a better semester this time around!

About The Author

Fourteen years ago I came to the U.S. from Taiwan and studied in a field that rarely accepted “fresh off the boat” international students from non-English speaking countries. I’m Dr. Vivi Hua, Psy.D. and I help international students learn how to navigate the U.S. educational system and feel comfortable with the American culture so they can succeed academically and socially in their lives and careers!
